A mobile patrol app that proves every stop

Mobile patrol contracts are sold on a promise: a guard will drive by, get out, check the doors and log it, several times a night. The client is never there to see it. When a break-in happens on a night the log says was patrolled, the question isn't just what happened. It's whether the patrol was actually there.

TeamProof turns each patrol stop into a proven visit: GPS check-in at the site pin, photos, a checklist and the time on site. Our existing security patrol proof and security guard tour app pages cover guard tours in general. This page is about mobile patrol: one guard, many sites, a route through the night.

Each stop is a scheduled visit

In TeamProof, every client site on a route is a property with its own pin and schedule. Overnight schedules are supported, so a patrol that runs from 10 PM to 6 AM sits cleanly on one night. If a site gets three hits a night, add three times to its schedule; each hit is a separate visit with its own check-in and photos.

At each stop the guard:

  1. Logs in with phone and PIN (with lockout after repeated wrong PINs)
  2. Taps Check in, and the location is checked against the site pin
  3. Takes photos: locked doors, gates, lights, anything unusual
  4. Works through the stop's checklist
  5. Taps Check out, and the location is checked again

Know about a skipped stop tonight

Patrol companies usually discover skipped stops when the client complains, or worse, after an incident. TeamProof watches the schedule. One hour after a stop's scheduled time with no check-in, the visit gets a Missed tag and you get an email. You can reassign it from the visit or call the guard. See missed visit alerts.

If a guard checks in more than an hour away from the scheduled time, they pick a short reason that stays on the office screens, so a late hit explains itself.

Proof you can share with the client

Property managers and business owners buying patrols want evidence. Each client gets a private client visit report link showing their stops: times, GPS confirmation and photos. They never see the guard's name, phone number or pay.

Why GPS at the stop, not a live tracker

Many patrol apps track vehicles continuously. TeamProof doesn't. It checks location at check-in and check-out at each site. That proves the guard was at the property, which is what the client is paying for, without trailing your guards all night. It's simpler to explain to staff and easier to justify under Canadian privacy law. Read is GPS tracking employees legal in Canada?

If you need live vehicle tracking, panic buttons or incident report forms, a dedicated security operations platform may suit you better. TeamProof focuses on proving stops happened.

Subcontracted patrols

Some security companies hand overflow sites to another patrol firm. In TeamProof, subs join free and only see the visits you send them and their price. Their proof comes back to you, and the client sees it as your service. See subcontractor verification.

Paper logs vs. TeamProof

Many patrol companies still hand out paper logs. Our security patrol log template is free if you need one. The difference is that a paper log is filled in by the guard, collected later and can't verify location. A TeamProof visit is checked against the site pin at the moment it happens and shows up on your screen right away.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does TeamProof prove a patrol stop happened?

Each stop records check-in and check-out times, GPS at the site pin at those moments, photos and a checklist.

Does TeamProof track patrol vehicles live?

No. It checks location only at check-in and check-out at each stop.

What if a guard skips a stop?

One hour after the scheduled time with no check-in, the stop is tagged Missed and you get an email.

Can a site have several patrol hits a night?

Yes. Add several times to the site's schedule; each one is its own visit with its own proof.
